A little bit about me...

Get to know me a little better, read along for my journey into Pilates and onto building my dream studio!

My journey first began many moons ago (I'm a tad older than I look!) when I first dipped my toes in the world of dancing.

I'm pretty sure I began tapping and pointing my toes before I could properly walk! I fell in love with movement right there, the beauty of being able to freely move and express yourself without even saying a word. Learning how to move with ease and grace, it was a match made in heaven and to this day will still be my very first love.

Fast forward some years, I've continued dancing and gone through vigorous dance training (coming out almost unscathed!) to then begin my career as a dancer. During which I found Pilates!

A modality which felt like it matched perfectly with my non stop career. It enabled me to keep my body strong and avoid injury whilst I put my body through intense auditions, shows and performances 6 days a week.

After I hung up my pointe shoes and left my first career, I was unsure what to do next. So I simply found work and explored but nothing seemed to really fit. I wasn't made for sitting still, I craved movement and the joy of sharing it. I continued to practice Pilates in my spare time and realised it could be a great thing to study.

So off I went to the big smoke to get my first qualification in matwork Pilates. I trained with Body Control Pilates, a contemporary provider, and after a couple years and hundreds of hours of practice later I qualified!

There began my career as a Pilates teacher. It was perfect!

Except, I felt something was missing from my knowledge. I felt like I only had a single piece of the puzzle and knew there was so much more to learn.

So I went for my second qualification, this time keeping with the original method (how Joseph Pilates made it) and getting my fully comprehensive classical qualification with Pi Studios.

It was hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have become the teacher I had dreamed about being.

I have a greater knowledge of all the parts of the method, that create a well rounded system designed to create strong, whole bodies that are built for success.

I get to share this method each and every day and watch how it transforms people's lives. I love it when I hear things like "I managed to run my fastest race this weekend" or "I got out of bed this morning without my back giving way" or "I feel so much more energised now, I'm so much happier".

Whatever your target is I am eager to help you get there by showing you what your body is truly capable of. The Pilates method is such a fantastic well rounded system, that it helps to unlock not only the ease of movement for all who practice but also a deep rooted feeling of confidence in what they (and their amazing body) can achieve.

Now stepping back into today, and you sitting down to read this with me (thank you!), I am about to set up my very own studio space!

A dream I held ever since I got my hands on that first qualification, some 5 years ago.

I am building a space designed to share my love of movement, my thirst for learning the Pilates method (I will forever be it's student) and my passion for success and achieving goals!

I will be bursting open the doors to my new space in January 2025 and I can not wait to invite you in to begin your journey of a lifetime!

If you would like to know more about my vision for the studio and what I will be offering you, then have a read of my next blog all about the Victoria Rose Pilates Studio mission!
